This is Elizabeth Hummel, my new home for sharing songs and other writings. I have been writing songs most of my life, songs about love and mystery and nature and grief, funny stuff too. I have a collaborative project with Brian Castillo (also my amazing partner and sound engineer!) called Waterwitch. I occasionally write political folk songs. In the past few months, I have been writing songs about a new source of harm to women, children, and gay and lesbian people. It is an issue I care about deeply. Here are two of these songs, with more information at the links.
Tomiekia’s Song is a cry for help from incarcerated women who are being locked up with men:
Here is one I wrote inspired by the parents at PITT, Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans:
Finally, here is a recent recording and video of an old song I wrote back in the San Diego Days, featuring my old friend Steve Poltz on backup vocals. Lots of cool old pics from the ‘90s of me and my friends.

Thank you so very much for writing to Glen Loury. I've been wanting to do so for some time but never got around to it. Regards
